The Black First Land First (BLF) has on Wednesday come out in support of the castigated Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane following her withdrawal on a court challenge to her SARB recommendations.

Mkhwebane pronounced on Monday that she will not challenge the South African Reserve Bank’s application to set aside her findings that the mandate of the reserve bank must be changed.

“BLF is appalled by the systematic attacks on the Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane. The attacks are synchronized and well coordinated by agents of white monopoly capital.

“The sin of the Public Protector was to find that ABSA must pay back the money it stole from the people and that the South African Reserve Bank must stop being a tool of capitalist accumulation and to this end, it must serve the interests of the people,” BLF said in statement.

Mkhwebane had given orders that the Constitution be amended to change the powers of the Reserve Bank.

However the public protector recently reported that she was wrong on her remedial action with regard to a constitutional amendment. A call that has seen opposition political parties calling on her to resign from her position.

Mkhwebane offered to pay legal costs of opposing counsels.

Meanwhile the BLF accused white monopoly for attacks on the Public protector and other senior state officials.

“They started with massive attacks on Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng and then praised him whenever he criticised the President.

“The attacks became unbearable for him. After a while, the allure and relief of white praise pulled him decisively into the side of white monopoly capital. This is what they are doing with the Public Protector right now,” Said BLF.
