Despite how easy it may seem to assumptions about the kind of person Kgomotso Christopher is based on what her life looks like from the outside, it’s quite clear that she’s a bit of an enigma.

The 37-year-old actress grew up in Tembisa in the East Rand and still frequently visits as she has family that lives in and around the area. It is also during that upbringing that she discovered how drawn she was to being an entertainer.

Work Ethic


Kgomotso has been working as an actress since she was in college. She wasn’t from a very rich background and had to pursue a degree that would guarantee employment upon graduation but she did not let that derail her plans of becoming an actress.

As soon as she got to Cape Town, she contacted one of the Cape Town-based agents that she had met during her time at the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein and set up a meeting. She was later signed to the agency and she got acting jobs which she had to fit into her schedule as a full-time student.

Although she had already shared this story on her Instagram quite a few weeks ago, Kgomotso retold the tale of how she first met Jerry Mofokeng when she was in high school.

In the caption, she wrote;


“When I was 17, I was walking from high school to the taxi rank and I bumped into a theatre giant across from the Joburg Theatre. I stopped him, opened my homework diary and asked him to autograph it. He wrote “Reach for the Stars”…his name was Ntate Jerry Mofokeng @jerrymofokeng38 , and tonight that girl is so privileged to be part of his invited guest list on his opening night for “Acceptance” @joburgtheatre.
