The lead up to the 2017 BET Awards weekend has been the talk of the town and while none of our artists walked away with that Best International Act: Africa award,

they did represent the hell out of our country and our continent and they looked like they had a blast doing it.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka

Mam' Yvonne was in LA to be honored by BET for her humanitarian efforts but she also hit up the party circuit in addition to showing her "babies" (Nomzamo, Pearl and Nasty C) all the love and support they needed.

She looked STUNNING in the Lufi D gown she wore while accepting her award
And the best part of the dress? It had pockets! Pockets always make a dress/skirt so much better.
She later hit up the BET Experience in a JJ Schoeman gown and quite frankly, we're starting to wish she was our mom. Her boys must be so proud!

Pearl Thusi

Like Mbatha, who was in town to both present an award and film segments for BET A-List, Thusi also had the opportunity to present an award during the main ceremony.
She hit up the pre-party circuit and rubbed shoulders with the who's who in black entertainment...
She then joined Nomzamo Mbatha at the official awards ceremony in a gown by Casper Bosman.

Nomzamo Mbatha

All eyes were on SA's media darling this past weekend as she was in LA on a mission to conquer a host of things, most important of all being her host duties alongside Eva Marcille and by the sounds of things, she held it down!
She also promised to bring it on the the fashion front, promising to dazzle in a Rich Factory "Zulu Love Letter to the World." dress.
It was Rich Factory all the way as she teased in this adorable pantsuit...
... and she followed it up with this exquisite beaded creation by the same design house.
She also donned a Toju Foyeh design for her host duties alongside Eva Marcille.
With all this slayage, Nasty C will have to forgive us for focusing on the ladies.
The 2017 BET Awards will air in South Africa on Tuesday.
