Trump on Dropping 'MOAB' in Afghanistan: 'Don't Know' If It Sends Message to N. Korea

President Donald Trump praised the U.S. military after the so-called "mother of all bombs" was used for the first time on the battlefield in Afghanistan.

The device is the largest non-nuclear device in the Air Force arsenal, Fox News' Jennifer Griffin reported. It was dropped in Nangarhar Province, an eastern area near the Pakistan border, and targeted ISIS tunnel networks.

"We are so proud of our military. It was another successful event," said Trump, then taking a shot at his predecessor.

"We have given them total authorization. ... Frankly, that's why they've been so successful lately. If you look at what's happened over the last eight weeks and compare that to what's happened over the last eight years, you'll see there's a tremendous difference," he said.

Trump was asked whether he believes the strike sends a message to North Korea, which is reportedly preparing its sixth nuclear test.

"I don't know if this sends a message. It doesn't make any difference if it does or not. North Korea is a problem. The problem will be taken care of," he said, adding that China is "working very hard" to deter further North Korean aggression in the region.
