Moreki hitmaker King Monada apparently left fans disappointed after he had to skip an event he was billed to perform at because of a funeral in Tzaneen.

According to Sowetan, King Monada was booked to perform at the Township Entrepreneur Awards at Carnival City over the weekend, but apparently only notified event organisers a night before that he could not make it.

"We spoke to them [event organisers] on Friday and informed them that Monada was asked to attend a funeral in Tzaneen in the morning. Unfortunately it took longer than we had expected. We informed them that he was not going to make it on time," Monada's manager Molau Ramala told the paper.

The event organisers claimed that they had paid the Moreki hitmaker a R10,000 deposit to secure his performance, but the show had to go on without him.

In February the musician also had to cancel his Metro FM Awards performance after his two-year-old son had been hospitalised with a mystery illness.
