SABC1’s Nyan’Nyan presenter Luyanda Potwana has been in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend for nine months and says he loves every minute of it. The two met while Luyanda was travelling and he says he was swept off his feet.
“My girlfriend is South African but has been living in the [United] States for 18 years, we met while I was travelling and we immediately connected,” he says.
Having previously been engaged, Luyanda says he has learnt from his previous mistakes and he is taking things slowly.
“In my previous relationship we rushed things and I ended up getting burnt badly. This time around I am taking it easy. In a relationship I give myself whole-heartedly,” he adds
Addressing the challenges that come with being in a long-distance relationship, Luyanda says it’s not easy but communication is key.
“We see each other as much as we can. I visited her in October on my birthday and around December and we speak almost every day,” Luyanda shares.
“I’m a very romantic guy; although I’ll be alone this Valentine’s Day, the candlelight dinner and picnics at the park are my thing,” he says.
