Idols SA season 8 winner Khaya Mthethwa has returned to the musical competition, but not to sing. Instead he will take a seat among the panel of judges.
Mthethwa, who is originally from KwaZulu-Natal,  was guest judge for the Pretoria auditions last week. He recently posted a photo of all four judges together and captioned it: “sum total of my day today! What a dream come true! Thank you @Idolssa thank you @mzansimagic what an honor sitting on the other side of the table.”

“It was really a great experience finding myself on the other side of the table, it was really fantastic”, says Mthethwa.
The Ushilo Wena singer says he’s still not sure if it was a once-off thing, or whether fans will still see him at some point on the show.

Mthethwa is better known as the first black person to win Idols season 8 in 2012 and is now a gospel singer and TV presenter who has released two albums since.
