MAMELODI Sundowns have lashed out at Keagan Dolly’s agent Paul Mitchell for spreading “lies” in a bid to sell him overseas.
This issue has also pist-off Downs boss Patrice Motsepe who told the media that he would have released Dolly for free if it was up to him.
Downs management released a statement yesterday blaming Mitchell for dragging the club’s name into the mud due to misrepresentation. French Ligue 1 club Montpellier and Greek Super League side Olympiakos are believed to be eager to acquire the 23-year-old’s services.

Motsepe has given Dolly the green light to leave the club, should they receive an offer of about R21 million “in terms of the buyout clause that was agreed upon between Dolly and Downs and upheld by the PSL dispute resolution chamber”.
Read the statement: “We are disappointed and concerned by the continuous lies and misrepresentation which is spread by Paul Mitchell, Keagan Dolly’s agent, which makes any cooperation difficult. Sundowns doesn’t want to be seen as a Club that can be blackmailed to sell players because of misrepresentations and pressure in the media.”“Sundowns remains committed, as stated by its President Patrice Motsepe, to immediately release Keagan Dolly to any club which comply’s with the buy-out clause which was upheld by the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber.”
Downs revealed that they have the best interest of the player at heart as they also tried to sell Dolly to clubs associated with English Premier League giants Manchester City Football Academy.
‘‘Part of the discussions were to “park” Dolly in the short term, at one of the European Clubs that had a partnership with City Football Group”
