SEE Sasol’s stunning new R2 billion headquarters in Sandton

Development is well underway at 50 Katherine Street in Sandton, where a 67,000 square metre build will serve as the new headquarters for petroleum and oil giant, Sasol.
The building has been under construction since 2013 and was designed by Paragon Architects, which has designed a number of iconic buildings in Sandton, including the Norton Rose Fulbright offices on Alice lane.
Upon completion, expected sometime in the fourth quarter of 2016, the 10-storey office will house between 3,000 and 4,000 Sasol employees which are working in 17 different buildings across the city.
The development cost for the building has been pegged at around R2 billion, though no official figure has been given. The size and complexity of the build has been compared to the Standard Bank building which was recently completed, which cost R2.5 billion.
The build forms part of a movement to create a new business district in Sandton, with Katherine street serving as a new centre for development in the area.
The photos below show how the construction processes has gone, and how the near-completed build looks, compared to the initial renders.
