Street Dance (Street Cred) sets to premieres on SABC 1 this Thursday 13 October 2016, at 18h00.
The show is hosted by South African award-winning rapper and television personality, iFani.
The new show will see the channel traveling to the 9 provinces to afford Mzansi youth a chance of competing in their respective regional dance rounds. Regional winners will win a place to compete in the national finals to be held in Johannesburg.
While doing battle on the mobile Street Cred set, viewers will be entertained by the best of street dance talent South Africa has to offer. Each episode will feature a select audience and will include 2 regional judges, led by resident judge, hip-hop artist and break dancer, Elric ‘Versatyle’ Prinsloo.
In the 1st episode of Street Cred, the team travels to Mahikeng for the North West regional street dance championship. iFani hosts 6 solo finalists as they try to wow the team of judges, made up of our resident judge Versatile and two regional judges, local choreographer Lawrence Matlhanye and dance teacher Erin Musson. The regional winner walks off the Street Cred dance floor with R 2000, a regional Street Cred trophy, the title of Mahikeng’s ultimate Street Cred champion and a chance to compete in the Street Cred National solo finals in Jo’burg where he/she could win R10 000 and the national solo Street Cred championship title!
