Basetsana shares memories of her late parents

Businesswoman Basetsana was brought to tears by fond memories of her parents on Real Talk with Anele recently
The former Miss SA wept when speaking about her bus driver father walking her down the aisle when she married husband Romeo Khumalo in 2000.
Her father passed away a few years later in 2003. “My dad was an incredible human being. When I was 13 years old he gave me my first book, ‘Norman Vincent Peale’s The power of positive thinking’,” Bassie said.
Bassie shared that she was ‘daddy’s girl’ and even the man she chose to marry to is a lot like her father.
In 2006 her mother then passed on. Bassie recalled how her mother taught her and her siblings to always look out for one another. “We grew up in a secure home. She said you are always better as siblings.
“We grew up with not much materially, but with a lot of love,” she added.
Even though her parents are no longer alive in the flesh, she still believes they are her guardian angels. “They cover us,” she said.
