TWO of Mzansi’s hottest TV hunks have allegedly been shown the door!
Sdumo Mtshali and Pallance Dladla, who are best known for their roles as Kuti and X in SABC1’s award-winning show Tempy Pushas, will allegedly not be back for the new season of the show.
Sunday Sun has been told the pair has been replaced.
Rumour has it that Fezile Makhanya will play Kuti and Luzuko Nteleko will play X.
According to sources, the two were shown the door and recast when they tried to negotiate better salary deals.
“Sdumo and Pallance decided to approach Endemol and asked for better salaries before shooting started. They didn’t give the production house a chance and demanded to be paid better rates. But things didn’t go as planned, as the production company didn’t give in to their demands.
“Trouble began when they heard Akhumzi Jezile (who plays Ngulube) had gone to negotiate for himself and they decided to go in together,” said a source.
Another source, who works for the production company, said they were shocked when the pair was recast.
“Almost everyone was back on set to shoot except Sdumo and Pallance. It was shocking to see their replacements. I think their approach wasn’t smart as they’re said to have told the production company that if they don’t meet their demands, they’d have to recast their roles.
“This backfired on them as they were recast, and now they won’t be back for the second season,” said the source.
Although the two actors are currently in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela, Isibaya, they were also loved by many Tempy Pushas viewers.
The new season of Tempy Pushas will air this month or early October.
When called for comment, Akhumzi said: “I won’t comment on anything that has nothing to do with my craft.”
  • When contacted for comment, Sdumo said: “The reason I’m not part of Tempy Pushas is I have a busy schedule. I’m shooting three projects all at once and they didn’t tell us the dates they wanted us to shoot the drama on time. I tried, but I realized thatI wasn’t going to make it, so I decided to commit to the three projects as I’m contracted to them.”
Fezile said: “I’m part of Tempy Pushas and will play Kuti. I don’t know if we’re allowed to speak to the media about it, please speak to them.”
On Friday Endemol’s receptionist, known only as Grace, promised to get them to return our call, but hadn’t done so at the time of going to press.
Pallance and Luzuko could not be reached for comment.
