Just when you think you’ve seen it all, it gets “better and better” as pictures of a bizarre wedding has been making the rounds on social media showing a couple getting married at a Shoprite supermarket in Botswana.

The couple are clad in their wedding finery and were accompanied by colour co-ordinated bridesmaids.

Shoppers were astounded as the bride and groom walked down the aisle sandwiched between cash registers and a wall advertising Mageu.

Even the couple’s wedding photos are unusual – posed in front of a large Shoprite truck with their guests – and next to a sack of potatoes, with the bridesmaids, wearing silky pink dresses, holding brightly coloured balloons instead of flowers.

TMG Entertainment, who tracked down Shoprite spokesperson Sarita Van Wyk, reported that the wedding was that of Onalenna Gaewe, a bakery assistant in Shoprite Maun. She wanted her colleagues to share her experience as some of them could not attend because they had to work on her special day.

Gaewe and her husband made a quick stop at the store fresh from their local church and on route to their wedding venue.

It is believed that the couple is currently on honeymoon and will return to work soon.
