In the past few weeks Babes has found herself making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Wololo hitmaker Babes Wodumo and her dad‚ Bishop Welcome Simelane have blasted the singer’s critics and the media for “twisting things around“.

Over the weekend it was reported that members of her father’s church had allegedly complained about Babes’ being ‘dololo’ in church‚ yet the bishop has been encouraging young people to attend church regularly.
Speaking to TMG Entertainment both Babes and her dad slammed the reports.
The Wololo singer’s dad was seething‚ saying that he hates the way his daughter is scrutinised by the media.
“I don’t like it when media scrutinise and write bad things about my daughter. I told my daughter not to do any interviews and people should call me first because I’m the bishop‚” he said.
The bishop went on to take aim at newspapers with accusations of “spicing up everything“.
“Newspapers twist and spice everything up‚” he said.
The Wololo star‚ who has garnered massive success since the release of the track‚ also lambasted the ‘negative reports.’
“People are jealous of my success. Last month I went to church and I always pay my 10 percent‚” she said.
Babes went on to add that her father is very supportive of her music and career path. “If your father is a doctor‚ it does not mean you have to be a doctor“.
Two weeks ago Babes found herself in the midst of a social media frenzy‚ after it emerged during a radio interview that she does not know who Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan is.
Social media was set alight with hundreds of comments around the debacle. While‚ her fans fiercely defended her‚ others insulted her intelligence.
