Final leg of the Miss South Africa regional auditions will take place.
It will be held at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton, Joburg, ending a six-week tour across Mzansi.
The Joburg round is expected to be more glamorous but also more challenging. Current Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene will be a judge.
Other judges will include 1990 winner Suzette van der Merwe, 2004 winner Claudia Henkel and 2009 winner Nicole Flint.
TV personality Maps Maponyane and radio presenter Bridget Masinga will be acting as celebrity judges.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Maps said: “The young women have really impressed me. We’ve heard some incredible stories and met remarkable women who represent what the pageant is about.
“We are spoilt with beauty everywhere we look in South Africa, so that will not be enough to get someone to the final stages.”
Bridget said this year’s entrants had a firm grasp on who they were and what they wanted for the future.
“I have met some women who are truly inspiring. This leaves me feeling whoever walks away with the title will be very deserving,” she said.
The winner of the 2017 pageant, presented by Sun International and Cell C, will be crowned at Sun City at the end of March. For the first time the winner will walk away with R1 million in cash. She will also get a car, an international holiday and other prizes. Finalists will get R25 000 in cash each.
