An "IT problem" is allegedly behind the results delay in KZN.
DA’s Zwakele Mncango said: “We have all been told that there is an IT problem which they are currently trying to sort out. They did not explain what the problem was."
ANC spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli said the party was not aware of the problem.
While results trickled in from around the country, by 11am in eThekwini Metro, the results were still not publicly available.
Currently, eThekwini reflects “no results” on the IEC website.
Election Commission spokesperson Thabani Ngwira told News24 on Thursday that the reason was because results were still being captured.
He said 1732 result slips had been collected from various voting stations around the metro.
Of that, 467 had been captured and only 392 had been audited.
