Western Cape IEC head Courtney Sampson said some 25 complaints had been received in the province, most of which were related to interactions between parties. All of the complaints had since been resolved, he said.
"It is not possible to satisfy everyone that laid a complaint, but each [one] has been taken seriously," he said.
IEC spokesperson Trevor Davids said a scuffle had also broken out between two candidates outside a polling station in Grabouw.
He said one had apparently been stabbed with a key during the altercation.
Davids said the incident occurred during voting hours. The nature of the argument was not known.
The matter has since been reported to the police.
