Dozens of cyclists taking part in one of the biggest cycle races in Asia crashed after a pedestrian decided to cross the road directly in front of them. People's Daily Online reports that the Cyclists were participating in the Tour of Qinghai Lake in western China on July 17 when the pedestrian appeared and started crossing the road one mile from the finishing line. 

The riders at the front were able to escape hitting the man but the cyclists behind him were not so lucky as one rider hit the man, crashing to the floor and causing a domino like effect throwing riders to the floor and from their bicycles.  

Following the crash which left six of the participants seriously injured, several police officers and and race officials were suspended while the pedestrian was detained for jaywalking.
