BUHLE Mda will soon reunite with her fellow band members of The Soil.
This will happen after the singer and fashion designer completed her sangoma training.
Buhle took a break in March to answer her ancestral calling and was replaced by a young singer, Theo Motshoba.
On Saturday loud singing could be heard from a distance in the streets of Protea Glen in Soweto when Buhle was brought home.
She was joined by other sangomas who were part of the celebration.
Earlier this year, Buhle said on Facebook: “As Africans, at times we have to answer to greater beings than ourselves.
“I will be taking some time out to concentrate on my own ancestral calling. Strength to me.”
She said her fans should not be worried as she was leaving them in the care of the harmonious hands of the group.
The group’s social media accounts announced that the singer would be coming back to the group.
Her next performance will be on 6 August at the Feather Market Hall in Port Elizabeth, which is part of the East London tour.
Buhle’s temporary replacement, Theo, will also be featured on the night.
Theo told her social media fans a few days ago that she had an amazing time working with the brothers.
“These two crazies have treated me, throughout the journey, as if we had known each other for years. Not a single time did they make me feel unwelcome,” she said.
“I am not lucky, I am blessed.”
It is not yet clear if she will continue to work with the group or if she will be signed as a solo artist.
Velile Sithole of Native Rhythm Records told Daily Sun they could not comment, but a detailed media release would be issued at the end of the month.
