A petrol attendant, who was attacked by two men during an alleged racially motivated incident in Limpopo, is still traumatised.
A video showing the assault on 31-year-old Johannes Monyela at a Sasol petrol station in Tzaneen on Saturday night has now gone viral.
The petrol attendant is still nursing his wounds after being beaten up badly by two men.
Footage captured on CCTV show three men arriving at the petrol station in a red car just before midnight.
Monyela is seen having a conversation with the driver and immediately after that one of the passengers came out and started to beat him.
The other passenger also joined in while the driver tried to break up the fight. A security guard also tried to assist Monyela, but he was also overpowered.
Monyela ran for cover in the staff’s change room, but the attack continued inside. He says he never provoked the suspects .Monyela says he wants the law to take its course.
“This incident made me feel so bad, I need people who can help me on this case, maybe government.”
The management of the petrol station has condemned the incident.
The suspects both 26-years-old, have appeared in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on charges of assault and were released on bail.
The case has been postponed to next week Monday.
