Rapper Emtee and Bafana Bafana footballer Andile Jali have joined forces and are bringing an exciting concert at their hometown of Matatiele. The two stars grew up in the dusty streets of Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. The pair will host the Back To Matatiele Social Festival which will be a combination of a football tournament and concert in June.
"This is a way to say thank you to the community of Matatiele. I hope this tournament will also inspire other youngsters in my community to follow their dreams in football," Andile told KickOff recently. The tournament will be followed by a concert headlined by Emtee.
The rapper took to Instagram to share the news of his home coming.
Speaking to BET, Emtee says he is honoured to be working with Andile on this project since he is ‘a big fan’ of the soccer player. “You won’t believe this but I’ve never met Andile before and I’m looking forward to meeting him I’m a huge fan and I love soccer, working with him on this is an achievement for me.” Said the rapper
“It means a lot to come back home and have something for the people and not just come back with nothing. Even when I don’t visit a lot because of work, they should know that I’m thinking about them,” Emtee continued.Emtee will be joined on stage by other big names in the music industry; which are Kwesta, Big Nus and Black Motion. The event will be hosted by TV personality Minnie Dlamini.
