5FM welcomes new talent to it’s on air line-up this month. Listeners have already settled into the small line-up shifts announced last month. Now the station who lives loud injects new blood to their on-air offering. This is in keeping with 5FM’s higher purpose of bringing youthful South Africans together through the power of music.

Some new 5FM family members have started on the station and includes newsreader Sibs Matiyela, Das Kapital and Lindo Mbuso. You can find newsreader Sibs on Hamman Time with Nick Hamman (Mon-Fri, 08:00 – 10:00) and The Thando Thabooty Show with Thando Thabethe and Justine Toerien (Mon-Fri, 10:00 – 13:00). On joining the station, Sibs says, “To wake up every morning and be able to do what I love is enough of a blessing. But to have an opportunity to do such a thing on 5FM is mind blowing.”

Das Kapital, who was a regular feature on The 5th Element, has his own show, In Das we Trust, on Sundays, 22:00 – 01:00. Das, real name Kyle Brinkmann, says he has been listening to the station since he was a kid. “I've been listening to 5FM ever since I could remember. Having my own show on the station now is surreal. The support is already streaming in, and I'm certain we're about to have a lot of fun together on In Das We Trust.”

Linda Mbuso joined in March, holding done the Power After Hours (Mon-Thur, 01:00 – 05: 00). This show will now be taken over by Vic Naidoo, who is already hosting All Night Music (Fri-Sun, 01:00 – 05:00).

Grant Nash, who listeners will remember as one half of the Grant and Anele show, has been at the station working in a mentor and coaching capacity. He now takes over as Programme Manager. “I am hugely honoured to fill the shoes of such industry giants that have gone before as 5FM Programme Managers. 5FM is an iconic South African radio brand and this is a tremendous opportunity that I am excited to undertake. I see my position as one that honours and respects this rich tradition, while helping to position 5FM for a rich exciting future in a digital and diverse world,” says Grant on his appointment.
