City of Johannesburg mayor Parks Tau’s wife was left traumatised after she was robbed of personal belongings at a parking lot in Sandton, Tau’s office said on Tuesday.
Spokeswoman Phindile Chauke said Pilisiwe Twala-Tau was alone on Monday evening when the incident happened.
“She is emotionally traumatised but okay and was unharmed. All her personal belongings were taken. Just like her husband, Mrs Twala-Tau prefers simplicity and to not have bodyguards around her…unfortunately that has now rendered her vulnerable to criminals,” said Chauke.
No arrests have yet been made.
