Amo Chidi is a South African singer, dancer and actress best known for her role as Reneilwe, Mamokete’s niece and the best friend of 16-year-old Mampho, in the e.tv soap opera Rhythm City, making her first appearance in late 2012.

She made her first television appearance at the age 10 as a top 10 finalist on SABC2’s singing competition Light House. Amo was also a Top 40 finalist on the M-Net reality competition High School Musical: Spotlight South Africa, in 2008.
Amo’s passion for the performing arts has led to several achievements, including a role in the Daughters of Africa, a pan-African show which consists of 12 women from all over the continent. Amo was chosen to represent South Africa in this show which toured the Netherlands for six months.
Amo is also known for her prominent role as the young girl in the internationally celebrated musical show The African Mama’s, joining the cast in August of 2010 for a woman’s month show at the Durban Playhouse Theatre.
Later she continued her cooperation with the mama’s in a successful show the African Mama’s Sing Mama Africa a tribute to Miriam Makeba, which also toured the Netherlands.

She has appeared in a number of television adverts and was the presenter of Design and Automobile on DStv’s AfricaMagic channel.
