The EFF’s Floyd Shivambu has alleged that Lindiwe Sisulu was moved to another portfolio after she refused a request from the Gupta family.

Shivambu‚ the deputy president of the Economic Freedom Fighters and its Parliamentary Chief Whip‚ said Sisulu was moved from the defence ministry to her current position as minister of Human Settlements after she refused to accede to an aircraft deal made by the Guptas.

Shivambu made the revelation while addressing an EFF rally in Uitenhage‚ to remember the victims of the the Sharpeville and Langa massacres‚ eNCA news channel reported.

The allegation comes as various officials claimed they were offered positions by the Guptas‚ with some also having to vacate their positions after refusing their requests.

Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas said last week that the Guptas told him he could become the minister of finance if he acceded to certain requests‚ notably if he fired officials who stood in the way of their plans.

ANC MP Vytjie Mentor also revealed that she had been told she could become public enterprises minister if she halted SAA’s flights to India so the Guptas’ airline would take over the route.

Former GCIS Themba Masek revealed at the weekend that he was ordered to channel his department’s adspend to the Guptas’ New Age newspaper. He lost his position a year after he refused.
