TV presenter Andile Ncube has broken his silence on his divorce with Ayanda Thabethe.
Speaking to Gareth Cliff on CliffCentral, Andile admitted that this was the first time he was speaking about it.
“I understand that people are interested. You can’t be putting pictures out there with the hashtag #Whatlovelookslike and then be mad at the flip side of it.”
Gareth questioned Andile on the rumours that he had cheated, saying Ayanda has confirmed this. But Andile was quick to correct him. “She came out and found a lot of things. She actually denied that I was cheating. It was controversial because it was a shock to a lot of people. We were married for 2 years and a lot of people thought it was a dream marriage. By the time people caught wind of it, it was 3 months later.”
Andile went on to add that he has been single for a year and a month, admitting that it is hard to date after marriage. “How do you replace the most beautiful woman in the world? It’s tough. My marriage wasn’t horrible. It’s something I can’t wait to do again in a couple of years. But when you come out of a marriage, it’s hard to date.”
He also opened up about his daughter, saying that he is not as involved as he would like to be. “Her mom (Rosette Mogomotsi) lives in Cape Town. Being a parent is hard. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. My mom takes on a lot.”
So, what’s his take on people dating you just for fame and money? “Relationships are difficult and hard no matter who you are going to be with.”
