PEARL THUSI and DJ Warras have allegedly been kicked off Live Amp!
Sunday Sun sources claimed the two presenters will be hosting their last show on 7 February.
The sources also claimed the show will be moved from the 9pm Friday night slot to 7.30pm and will air for only 30 minutes.
“This is happening as the SABC is beefing up to compete with opposition,” said a source. The source also claimed Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha has survived the chop.
“We were all shocked when we saw the call sheet for 12 February,” said another source.
A third source said there were too many issues with the running of the show, which led to the shake-up.
“The show wasn’t working. The artists were on every week due to the ties they had with people there. Because of many complaints, the SABC had to act,” a source said.
Insiders said Pearl and DJ Warras failed to impress, but LootLove’s positive public reviews put her in good favour with the SABC.
“She’s been taking her fashion sense seriously and it’s paying off,” said the source.
SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, said: “We’re busy with rescheduling. We’ll make an announcement soon.”
Pearl said: “I know my comment is never good enough unless it’s something bad. Yes, it’s true.
“But the show’s producer, Sjula Dlamini, will give you comment.”
LootLove’s phone rang unanswered and DJ Warras couldn’t be reached on both his numbers.
Sjula said: “We’re busy with funeral preparations of our colleague Marvin Cohen’s child. Please, call me some other time.”
