Right in the face of his interview with the Drum a few weeks ago, Legendary disco King Penny Penny has made a u-turn on his claims that Cassper Nyovest is his biological son.
Reached for a comment this week, after Cassper rubbished the matter Penny Penny switched statements and said he was just kidding when he claimed to be Cassper Nyovest’s biological father.
He however insisted that he is still proud of what the Doc Shebeleza rapper has achieved.
“I just like the boy, and the boy likes me too,” Penny Penny told us. “The boy respects me and I respect him too.”
“I’m happy when I see a new star like Cassper coming up because it shows the world that South Africa has talent,” Papa Penny added.
The move certainly raises eyebrows amidst claims that he came under heavy fire from Cassper and his mother for leaking such embarrassing information to the press.
Papa Penny refused to comment further on the issue or why earlier on he had confirmed falsehoods to the Drum.
Penny Penny has quickly become one of 2016’s most loved personalities, with the musician trending on social media whenever he appears on hit TV show, Clash of the Choirs.
He said he has been surprised by the love he is getting, but perhaps more surprised by claims he is using Cassper’s name to gain popularity.
“I’m already popular. The boy is big in his position and so am I. We are not competing with each other,” he says.
“I would even work with Cassper. Our relationship is good, we’re all strong. Maybe we should do a song together and show everyone,” he laughs.
