Johannesburg- Hold onto your remotes! Khanyi Mbau is joining the cast of Umlilo.
The talented actress and TV personality has been dominating both the local box office and our TVs of late, with her starring role on the film Happiness is a Four-Letter Word and her successful weekly talk show, Katch it with Khanyi.
But The Juice understands that Khanyi is set to return to the world of TV acting once again, with a role on e.tv’s hit drama series, Umlilo.
The channel has been hinting at new cast members for the show, with a figure thought to be Khanyi appearing on the show’s promotional material with her face blacked out.
It was all guess work until this picture of the actress on the set of the shoot was leaked online this week. In the snap, Khanyi Mbau is seen wearing the same figure-hugging dress as in the promotional material.
An insider has told The Juice that Khanyi has in fact joined the show, but that her role and appointment cannot be confirmed until early next week.
Khanyi rose to TV fame playing the role of Doobsie on Muvhango in 2004. Her last permanent TV series role was as nurse Pinki on the first season of e.tv’s telenovela Ashes to Ashes last year.
