Well, guess the beef that been ongoing between Cassper and AKA has paid off where it maters the most – in the bank!!
The duo’s competition between Cassper Nyovest and AKA (Kiernan Forbes) will never come to an end, or at least that’s what we think. While the beef has subsided for now, Forbes has rejected the idea of ever working with Nyovest.
The competition between musicians in general has always centred around their music, money and materials their careers have acquired for them.
Now, SA Hip Hop has magazine published an article listing the top ten richest South African rappers.
On the list, Nyovest, whose achievements include his latest album Refiloe going platinum, filling up the TicketPro Dome and signing a deal with MTN, is surprisingly only worth R3.2 million.
The magazine further reports AKA to be worth R4.8 million, acquired through endorsement deals, performances and album sales.
Nyovest took to Twitter on Thursday to share how much money he made in 2015, just from shows. He was responding to a follower who also made a claim that nemisis AKA is richer than Nyovest, because making money is “about cashflow and not filling up the dome only”.
Nyovest told the follower he made a whopping R8 million in 2015, just from shows.
This excludes album sales and the MTN deal. He further shared on Twitter that any list of richest South African rappers that excludes Proverb should not be trusted.
Forbes recently went on a trip to Toronto and posted a picture of himself and his friend DJ Fanatic in a club, saying he had just been told he spent R35 000 on alcohol – clearly money is no object for “the baddest team”.
What we do know is that both rappers are doing well in their music careers and that they are loaded.
As for how loaded they really are, we may never know – unless both exercise transparency and reveal their true net worth. However, the chances of that happening are slim to non-existent.
