The 40-year-old award-winning actress features in the fashion magazine’s February issue’s “best performances” portfolio.
The edition also features Amy Schumer, Margot Robbie, Mya Taylor, Jane Fonda and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Black and white images of a sultry Theron sitting on a bed with only a bed sheet draped across her waist saw her stand out among some of her fully clothed peers.
Photographed by Peter Lindbergh and styled by Edward Enninful, the Benoni beauty was the only one who opted for the natural look.
She was celebrated by the magazine for her role in Mad Max: Fury Road.
She told W Magazine: “My character, Imperator Furiosa, is missing an arm, but in the film we never explain how that happened – she just is. I don’t think the character would have the same gravitas if she wasn’t broken like that. Instead, she’s an entire human being who just happens to be an amputee.”
