AWARD-WINNING gospel star, Sfiso Ncwane, left fans high and dry at the Crown Gospel Awards on Sunday.
A crowd of fans waited for their role model, Sfiso, to walk into the Hilton Hotel, in Durban, so they could greet him.
But the star seemed to be in no mood to pose for pictures or sign autographs.
Sunday Sun witnessed Sfiso walking to the accreditation desk, hiding under a cap.
Excited fans, ready to take pictures of Sfiso, had to leave without any snaps.
This while his wife looked on from their black Mercedes-Benz Viano.
It happened just hours before the SABC Crown Gospel Awards started at the Durban ICC.
An angry fan from Mthwalume in KZN, Mandlakazi Kumalo, expressed her disappointment.
“Sfiso has changed, he’s always in a bad mood and he no longer has time for those people who supported him while he was on his way up.
“It’s not the first time I’ve seen him acting this way.
“Two weeks ago he just got home and stayed in the car for hours. We also asked to take pictures and he said he was busy,” Mandlakazi claimed.
Maqhawe Nkosi from Dumbe, in KZN, said: “When we asked for pictures he said he’s in a hurry.
“Before, the red carpet didn’t mean a thing to him, but now that carpet means more to him than his fans.”
“Dumisani Nxumalo from Estcourt, in KZN, said: “He mustn’t blame us for his misfortunes when they come back to haunt this guy.
“We weren’t going to ask him about the R1 million car or whether he’s filled his mum’s fridge or not. We just wanted to take pictures with him.”
Yesterday when the SunTeam called, Sfiso refused to comment. He said: “You guys are always negative when you call me. Please send me an email.”
At the time of going to print he had not responded to our inquiry.
